At the summit of Tin Mill Hill. Departing out of Hill City, passengers on the Black Hills Central's "1880 Train" get an immediate taste of mountain railroading and the terrain for which the Articulated, Compound Mallet Locomotive #110 was built. Just a half mile outside the yard in Hill City, the train begins to tackle the mile-long stretch known as "Tin Mill Hill", where the maximum grade is about 6%. With 7 loaded coaches behind her, the 110 is literally on its knees when the grade is at its maximum. She is seen here at the grade crossing at the top of the hill.
