Behind all that snow is the unmistakable profile of Alco cab units as an A-B-A trio of former New Haven FA1s sandwiching an FB2 (1331-3393-1330) heads up Penn Central train LB-2, bound from Lowell, MA, to Boston via Framingham with interchange cars picked up from the Boston & Maine. On this winter day the end was in sight for these classic locomotives, which would soon be retired.
