In may 2010, the SBB ordered 59 "Twindexx Swiss Express" doubledeck Intercity trains from Bombardier, with the new Flexx Tronic WAKO system (FLEXX Tronic WAKO is an innovative system for the
compensation of the natural roll movement of a carbody, integrated into the existing secondary suspension. The system allows a speed increase in curves of ~15% and therefore allows for shorter journey times with lower investment in infrastructure). In february 2011, test runs with the new system started, using an existing "IC2000" first class car A 50 85 16-94 055, fitted with new WAKO bogies. Railcar RBe 540 # 059 is pulling the test train between Winterthur and Oberwinterthur, the doubledeck car is coupled with a special bar coupling between two Bpm Eurocity cars.
