In the cab of the coal fired former german express train steamlocomotive 4-6-2 "Pacific" 01 # 202 of association "Pacific 01 202" at Lyss. The engineer is on the right, fireman on the left, the same as common in Switzerland, although here on double-track left hand running is used and also the signals are on the left side (in Germany there is right hand running on double track lines). The red wheel on the right is the reversing lever, the regulator (throttle) is closed and the lever points diagonally to the right. Up in the middle is the boiler pressure indicator, showing 15 atü (213,35 Psi), maximum is 16 atü. The fire box door is of Franz Marcotty/Schöneberg bei Berlin patent. On the left foreground is the central lubrication system, above valves for steam blowers, feed water pump, steam alternator, jet pump, train heating and second steam alternator. The locomotive has a maximum velocity of 130 km/h and is allowed to run 120 km/h (74,5 mph) in Switzerland (and is doing that frequently, on this day also).
