Remarks & Notes
Duct Tape Can't Fix Everything...

...despite popular belief. Though the talented shop force at Juniata probably can fix anything. NS 4001, the AC44C6M that was involved in the 593 derailment at CP McVey on April 15, 2017, was recently moved from its storage location to the Erecting Shop for repairs. It's not going to be a quick process--while the frame is apparently salvageable, the engineer's side of the long hood and cab were damaged considerably. The fact that the crew walked away from this with relatively minor injuries still amazes me. The trailing unit, SD70ACU 1036, has been in the shop for a couple months now. At the time this was taken, 4001 was parked between in-sourced projects Delmarva Central 1560 and CEFX (ex-SOO) 6006.
