The Green Mountains of Vermont have received anywhere from 3-5 feet of new snow in the past week with even more forecast, making it a bit more challenging for Vermont Rail System's operations on the Green Mountain Railroad Bellows Falls Subdivision. On Pi Day, GMRC 263 is seen working toward the summit of the subdivision as it climbs through Mount Holly, Vermont, pushing snow that had fallen in the few hours since a regulator plow had preceded the freight. The estimate at the time of the photo was 2-3 inches per hour of snow and driving conditions certainly backed that snowfall rate up. GMRC 263 is led by VTR SD70M-2 431, GMTX GP38-2R 2684, and VTR GP40-2W 310.
