For the first 18 months after the MP-UP-WP merger, we in Texarkana didn't notice any major changes in locomotive assignments or paint schemes, as the non-dynamic brake equipped MP units generally stayed on MP lines, and units thankfully were never patched. But all of that was too good to be true, as I believe MP 3291 and MP 3198 were the first two unit painted into UP colors, although with Missouri Pacific block lettering. Here the 3198 is second out in a Chicago bound intermodal train as seen from the Hickory Street Viaduct in Texarkana.
