Remarks & Notes
From Canadian National's creation in 1922 until its purchase of the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton in 1983, the southernmost point on the vast CN system was the Central Vermont's waterfront yard in New London, CT. Grand Trunk GP9 4906, a "torpedo boat" model originally purchased for passenger service, assembled a local freight there on a February 1969 afternoon.
