Remarks & Notes |
Europhoenix English Electric Co-Co No 37 800 Cassiopeia is approaching Faversham, Kent with the 05.12 Derby to Ramsgate EMU Depot transfer of newly overhauled 375 828 from Bombardier, Litchurch Lane. The loco entered traffic with British Railways as No D6843 in May 1963 becoming 37 143 in 1974. It was refurbished as a heavy weight freight loco in 1986 as 37 800. On privatisation it became part of the EWS fleet (later DB Cargo) and was sent to France to work SNCF LGV construction trains in August 1999 and returned in July 2000. Then it was hired to GIF in Spain in August 2001 not returning until eleven years later in 2012. Purchased by Europhoenix and given a major overhaul it is now fitted with Dellner couplers and hired to Rail Operations Group. A remarkable survivor! |
