| Work is ramping up on CN's double track project on the Winnipeg to Chicago mainline south of Superior, Wisconsin. This former C&NW (Omaha) route out of the Lake Superior basin is a bottleneck for heavy trains grinding up grade, hence the double track that will eventually stretch from Parkland (Superior) and the top of the grade at Hawthorne, roughly 10 miles. |
