SEPTA's sole ALP-44 No. 2308, the last operating one in the US pushes its train east along SEPTA's "West Trenton Line", bound for Ewing, NJ. Rydal Station stands just behind the photographer. This former Reading line once provided direct competition to the Pennsy's NEC line, though in order to get across the Hudson River, passengers had to take a ferry from the line's terminus at Jersey City. That station (seen here) survives, though the tracks have long been severed and a good portion removed.
