On a beautiful Fall day in 2017, an eight car Regional Express plies the rails through Hamilton Township just shy of Hamilton station in NJ. Above, a perfect side by side comparison of both old and new catenary wire supports can be seen. To the right, the rather archaic rigid inverted "T" supports can be seen, while above, left, the new variable support constant tension supports can be seen. Running 2 years behind schedule, this segment should see speed improvements from 135 mph to 160 mph by the Fall of 2019.
