In 2018, the Blonay-Chamby Railroad/Museum is celebrating 50 years of operation. On this day, for photographers and filmers there was organized a "Mega Steam Festival" with 10 one meter gauge steamlocomotives. This is the little G 2/2 "Ticino", built in 1889 and used for construction work for the river correction (Consorzio Correzione del Fiume Ticino), survived for many years in a basement in Mendrisio and was made operational again in 2016 by experienced steam specialist Martin Horath (who is in the cab) in a few months. The locmotive is pulling passenger car B # 5, which was built in 1868 by Chevallier & Cheilus. Paris, for the Mont Cenis Railway. It came to the Lausanne-Echallens Railway in 1871, which became the Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher later. It is running for the Blonay-Chamby since 2016 and is beautifuly renovated now.
