Penn Central train 62 between Chicago and New York was the nameless successor to the New York Central's Twentieth Century Limited and the ancestor of Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited. On a hazy summer morning, an imposing ex-NYC P2b electric sped a lengthy consist that included sleepers from Detroit and Toronto as well as Chicago through Mount St. Vincent station in the northernmost Bronx, 13 miles from Grand Central Terminal.
