Remarks & Notes
"Toasters on the Keystone Corridor"

With the arrival of the newly acquired ACS-64 locomotives by Septa this year, time is ticking to see the last of the AEM-7s in service operate across Pennsylvania, marking the end of a 31 year history. The AEM-7 fleet, numbered 2301-2307, will be phased out of revenue service within the coming months as the new ACS-64s are placed into service. The tentative date for the first revenue run of an ACS-64 is scheduled for June 1, with plans to phase out the toasters as early as the end of June. On Thursday May 24. 2018 I happened to position myself at the right place at the right time and was able to photograph two AEM-7s side by side in Bryn Mawr, PA. Pictured semi-express train 9559 departing Bryn Mawr with AEM-7 2302 leading, while 9561, dubbed "The Great Valley Flyer", overtakes 9559 on the express track with AEM-7 2301 leading.
