Remarks & Notes |
On Monday's the 17:00-L568 Job goes over and does work on the John Deere Industrial lead in west-central Waterloo. The lead is about 2-3 miles long and serves 4 customers. The job goes to couple ends of the earth places and can spend around 4-6 hours get the work done depending on service needs. Today the 1st task will be to go to Northland Oil. The local will leave cars on the bridge for other work later and heads to Northland. Here the job passes over highway 218 that runs thru Waterloo.
Back many years ago the ex-Rock Island Mainline (then Iowa Northern Main) passed under this bridge and there was no interstate. The state spent tons of money to build this bridge for the CN to service the lone customer on this part of the industrial trackage 3 days a week. The grade to get up to this bridge is something special! Alot of the big building in the background is the John Deere Foundry. |
