In the blue hour at 09.27 PM, under the light of the full moon, a southbound passenger train is rounding the Omega shaped loop of Khonkhor on the trans mongolian line about 20 kilometers southeast from Ulaanbaatar. The grade of the line is about 1.0 % and is was built in the 1950'. The railway line is following the opposite side of the valley, below the white poles of the fence, from right to left and is then disappearing round a curve to the south. In the foreground, a car was running on the dirt road, leaving weak light traces. Time exposure was 408 seconds (6 minutes and 48 seconds), because the long train was running rather slowly.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
