Cowan-2013
"My oh my things was different back in 2013" CSX Q211-01 (Louisville,KY-Dixiana,SC) is slowly creeping pass the old Cowan Yard which is now the helper pocket for the pushers (MP J-86.4 Middle Cowan). While the northbound CSX Q580-01 is waiting in the east passing track for everything to clear up, the pusher M298-02 is making it's way north out of the west 1 track for the north-end of the siding. Mean time CSX Q211 is going to have to clear the north-end, which mean they will have to block Cumberland St. in town by the depot for ex amount of time to get the pusher couple up on the rear, and do a break test before 8,400hp for four motor will be put to the challenge to move 10,000ft long train over the grueling Cumberland Plateau. We're about a year from the ground breaking of what is going to be progress in the making when it comes to railroading on this side of the mountain. Photo was shot with permission by railroad personnel.
