Remarks & Notes |
Train 571 rounds a tight corner along Seton Lake. The Lake is 1500 feet deep, that puts it well below sea level. The Lake has been the site of more than one train wreck as well; PGE #53 wrecked twice on the lake. The second time in 1953 PGE 2-8-0 #53 went to the bottom killing one crewman. In 1980 BCOL M630 711 and BCOL C425 808 hit a landslide killing the brakeman. The 800 was recovered, but the 711 went to the depths. In 1988 diving enthusiasts raised the M630, and it was sold for scrap. |
