On the occasion of the Lyss steam days 2018, the privately owned tiny 0-4-0 steamlocomotive "Ticino", running on a provisional laid 1 meter gauge track on the loading ramp, is meeting the RABe 515 # 003 "MUTZ" doubledeck train of the BLS, entering the station from Biel. The "Ticino" was built in 1889 by Arnold Jung at Jungenthal near Kirchen/Germany for the "Consorzio Correzione del Fiume Ticino" (Correction Consortium of the Ticino River) as work locomotive with about 50 Horsepower. In 1941 the "Ticino" was withdrawn, but survived for decades, kept by Mister Guido Travaini in Mendrisio from 1961 till 2016. Then renovated and made operational again by steam specialist Martin Horath at Goldau in a few months.
