Goodbye for now It seemed like it would take forever for this train to finally leave Columbus after arriving there 7 hours earlier that afternoon. Any other train and I would have given up, but for my friends and I this night, we were determined to watch this train by since it was to be the last 137 for the foreseeable future. With questionable logic by NS management, the P-Line was to be partially mothballed and reduced to local service only with maybe one "as needed" through train a week. The partial mothballing did come and little to no traffic was seen on this line for most of the remainder of the year, but like previous times when NS did this, the management team came to their senses and reinstated through trains again in 2018. This capture of 137 finds it rolling through Opelika nearly two hours past midnight as it fades into black.
