Remarks & Notes
”Better By A Dam Site”

Southwestern Georgia’s Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad survived part of its early (1960’s) existence by transporting materials for the construction of a local dam. In the mid-1970’s, the CIRR jumped on the incentive per-diem boxcar craze, and deployed a fleet of 60-foot boxcars for off-line service. In homage to its early construction involvement, it tacked the racy by 1970’s standards slogan on the cars. Apparently, the shortline received complaints, and the slogan gradually disappeared. Today the CIRR is part of the G&W empire.
