On September 2, 2018, the Cincinnati Scenic Railway, operators of the Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad and the Ohio Rail Experience, unveiled the completion of their latest project: the restoration to As Delivered, Factory colors of former Chesapeake & Ohio GP7 5704. After serving as number 55 for the Indiana & Ohio Railway, and later for the LM&M since her retirement from the Chessie System in the 1980's, the 5704 is the oldest former C&O GP7 still in active service, and is also the oldest continuously active GP7 in the United States, having been completed by EMD in May of 1950. The work was completed by volunteers on the CSR staff over several weeks in July and August. Here, she powers the annual Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Train southbound (timetable east) on the Indiana & Ohio Railway's Oasis Subdivision, seen here passing the former distant signal at Rendcomb Junction in Cincinnati's Linwood Neighborhood on September 2, 2018.
