California Steam and Sunkist...Two Things That Just Go Together. Under a blanket of cool, coastal overcast, Fillmore & Western No. 14 works its train west out of Santa Paula and pass Sunkist's "Saticoy Lemon Association Plant No. 3." Once home to miles of spurs that serving packing houses across the Santa Clarita River Valley, this vital rail line that linked Los Angeles and San Francisco now only sees Fillmore & Western trains with the occasional Union Pacific trackage-right local making an appearance. While rail traffic might be severely less than it was back in it's prime, seeing a steam locomotive work a train through the scenery between Ventura and Piru is something that just feels "right."
