The last Alco plant switcher, Alco #5, makes a switching move in the Corinth Yard with a former US Army and Staten Island Alco S2, SNC 821. The S2 was painted into the D&H's black scheme by SNC. This scheme was used on the D&H's S2 fleet. The S2 was the first diesel used on this line. The SNC shut down back in the Spring of 2018. Since then they have been making clean up moves to get all the equipment off the former D&H Adirondack Branch. After BL2 52 pulled all remaining equipment to Corinth, Alco 5 shuffled some equipment around the yard.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
