An eastbound BNSF unit oil train empties rips through the small town of Toston, Montana, framed by the old highway bridge over the Missouri River on June 29, 2018. This bridge was opened in 1920, and was the route across the river here on Highway 287 until 1950, when a new bridge was built bypassing town. The single-lane (in today’s world anyway) Toston Bridge is a riveted steel Warren through truss design that was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
