Amtrak Northeast Regional #99 crosses Portal Bridge in Kearny, NJ, upon departing New York Penn Station. Powered by ACS-64 #613, the train is still hours away from reaching its final destination of Newport News, VA. Portal Bridge is one of the largest "choke points" on the Northeast Corridor, and is planned to be replaced in the coming years.
