The pine tree on the nose of U23B 280 marks it as a Maine Central engine, but its colors are those of its original owner, the Delaware & Hudson. MEC 280, one of 15 U23B's transferred in 1983 from the D&H to the MEC by the Guilford organization, fronted a B&M GP7 and a B&M GP38-2 on an eastbound B&M freight traversing the Stony Brook branch at Westford, MA.
