A long train with empty containers from the port of Mejiollnes to the San Cristobal mine in Bolivia is crossing a part of the Salar Ascotan on the way to the border station of Ollagüe. Locomotives are rebuilt GT22CU-3 # 2402 (rebuilt GR 12 from 1963, former Ferrocarilles Nacionales de Colombia FNC), Clyde Engineering GL26C-2 # 2010 from 1972 ex Queensland Railways and Clyde Engineering GL26C-2 # 2005 ex QNR. In the background is 5846 meter high volcano Cerro del Azufre.
