| Mission Mountain Railroad has recently painted GP39 (GP39-2) No. 3942 in the colors of a local high school. The locomotive is painted blue and white in honor of the Columbia Falls High School Wildcats. Sister engine No. 3946 has also been repainted and is now wearing black and orange for the Eureka High School Lions. Both schemes are a departure from Watco’s yellow and black standard, and were done as “…a way give back to our community,” according to Mission Mountain Railroad General Manager Kyle Jeschke. The railroad operates on two former Great Northern lines between Columbia Falls and Kalispell, and Eureka and Stryker. |
