Railcars ABe 4/4 # 56 "Corviglia" and # 51 "Poschiavo" are pulling Regional train 1625 from St.Moritz to Tirano at Brusio towards the spiral viaduct. Note the snow in the bogies of the railcar: Up on the Bernina pass are very harsh winter conditions. In the rear of the train are two panorama cars of the BERNINA EXPRESS, which are surplus in this time of the year and added to regular passenger trains on the Bernina line, with a supplement of 5 swiss francs to pay. Below the track, you can see 9 stone buildings, with a particular shape, typical of the region. These are the crotti, small buildings of uncertain origin, built centuries ago. They were built both in cool and shady areas, because they were used in particular for the preservation of fresh products, and in dry and open areas because sometimes used as a kitchen, or even as a temporary home during the summer season.
