The holiday rush is on as this passenger train crosses the Richelieu River. This was the site of a wreck on June 29, 1864 when an 11 car Grand Trunk passenger train went through the open swing bridge and fell into the river, killing 99 people. Behind the two GP-9's is a steam generator car. CN had a large fleet of steam generator cars that would allow freight engines to be used on passenger trains and provided more heating capacity than the boilers on passenger units.
