Fully assembled! The four locomotives and eight cars that would make up the consist of the 2018 Toys For Tots Train were assembled at Oak Island Yard in Newark, NJ on the morning of Thursday, November 29, 2018. A brief moment of sunshine accompanied the moment, and but for a brief photo stop, the SD60Es would lead the train across its journey.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
