Remarks & Notes |
It is crazy seeing how much Williams has grown and changed in past 18 years. Back in 2000 3 little geeps bark along with a westbound local bound for Fort Dodge. This was a cool era for the CN GP9's, but it didn't last long.
The Williams coal transload looks like it was in the early stages back in 2000? This was owned by Alliant Energy which used the Crandic Railroad in Cedar Rapids and why the CIC power was always here. A dome would be built for the coal dust and 120 car BNSF coal trains would be unloaded for different destinations in central Iowa til around 2015. The fertilizer plant in the far back has really built up too with a few new tracks and buildings. Common place for the 570 local to stop and work now days. Trip back in time here. |
