Southeast meet. Non-rush hour service on the MTA Metro-North Railroad Upper Harlem Line is provided by shuttle diesel trains that meet the electric trains from Grand Central Terminal at Southeast Station. On Saturday, January 12, 2019, train 9950 (left, with 113 BL20GH) and train 9939 (right, with leased Amtrak 2112 P42DC) were both on the platform at the same time. Due to the rebuilding of the Brookville built BL20s, two P42s have been leased from Amtrak to supplement the power pool.
The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
