Arctic cold air following a weekend New England snow storm caused significant delays for the normally nocturnal New England Central Railroad freight train 324-21 from St. Albans, Vermont to Palmer, Massachusetts. Led by NECR SD40M-2s 3474 and 3476, SD40-2 3320, and GP40-2L 3040, 324-21 crosses high above the Sugar River in Claremont, New Hampshire, as Mt. Ascutney looms in the distance on the bitterly cold morning.
