| What's in a name Freight train 186 is only 316 miles from Savannah as proclaimed by the Central of Georgia mile post numbering on this present day NS owned mainline. Although the name or Royal City won’t be found on any google map search, this siding’s prior name of Chewacla is. The name change from Chewacla to Royal City occurred after the opening of the Uniroyal Tire plant which had a spur built off of this short siding to their new factory. The name change was a nice ode to the new customer which opened for business in this area around 1963. |
