GMRC train 263, Saturday slurry with VTR SD70M-2 431, GMTX GP38-2 2684 and VTR GP38-2 202 had been having a good track speed run from Rutland to East Wallingford, VT, when at the Route 140 crossing, a logging truck failed to yield the right-of-way (activated crossing flashers in place) and was impacted by the track speed train and VTR 431. The ensuing collision spun the loaded logging truck onto the rear of the 431 and into the rear end of the GMTX 2684, causing a lot of cosmetic damage and critical injuries to the truck driver, however the crew escaped uninjured. This view is AFTER the patient had been extricated and was in the air for Dartmouth Medical Center.
