| Two GP38-2's lead a train of coal hoppers down grade through the tiny village of Winifrede towards Winifrede Jct. where the coal will be loaded into barges on the Kanawha River. Transhipment ceased in 2013 and cars now are interchanged with the CSX. These two units had been replaced by two GMTX GP38-3's during my June 2018 visit. Operations were pretty much the same with 28 car trains. |
