| The UP local out of Estherville works south towards Eagle Grove on the Estherville Sub in northwestern Iowa. At Emmetsburg the line crosses the old Milwaukee Road line from Mason City to Sheldon, and the old Milwaukee Road sign still stands proud of its heritage. Back in 2006 this would of been the IC&E Mason City Sub.
The 2854 was built in May 1972 as the SP 9230. The unit was rebuilt by SP in 1988 and numbered 6843, and then renumbered to the UP 4822 with the merger, then to the number seen here. These tunnel motors were sold and leased to the UP off and on til retired in 2008.
