With heavy snow and strong winds on Tuesday night, the L567 local covered the CN 5455 on their Manchester turn. A clean unit was needed in Cedar Rapids today for the L563 local. So the crew cabbed to Waterloo for power, cars, and a plow! Haven't seen much plow action on the CN the past couple winters in Iowa, and the 1st plow for this winter. The crew would hit moderate drifts on the Cedar Rapids Sub as they plowed south to Cedar Rapids. Here the crew rolls towards Manchester on the Dubuque Sub just west of Masonville. In 10 miles the crew will turn south for the 40 mile trip down the branch.
