| Kennecoot Copper's 25-ton No. 310 is seen in an unusual position switching passenger cars in the Nevada Northern Railway's yard on a cold morning in Ely. The 68-year-old, 150 horsepower unit originally served up at the Smelter in McGill pulling and shoving freight cars to and fro. Today's operations, however, find the Nevada Northern using it for all types of switching purposes in the yard like this morning as it positions the 1872-built (and beautifully restored) Outfit Car No. 6 that will serve as the transportation for the photographers a part of today's the weekends Winter Photo Spectacular. |
