| The Iowa Northern went out for the 3rd time this week with their new Jordan Spreader. The 1st 2 times they did the Manly Sub around Nora Springs. Today's agenda was the Oelwein Sub from Dewar to Oelwein. They went to work at 4am at Bryant Yard in Waterloo and worked out to Oelwein by 2pm. Pushing drifts back on 19 miles of railroad helps track inspections, improves train movements, and has the railroad set up better for the next snow storm. Here the operator looks out to see how much snow the wing will push and looking forward obstacles ahead as they push snow near MP 342. |
