One of America's oldest passenger train stations. Built by the Philadelphia, Germantown and Norristown Railroad and opened in 1834, the former station Shawmont, PA was later utilized by passengers of the Reading Railroad and SEPTA until 1996. A recent grant has provided for restoration of the structure, but on Sunday, March 3, 2019, as Train 225 with SEPTA Silverliner V 852 passes through the snow it is clear that work has not yet begun.
