Remarks & Notes |
The crew of an ETR job pause to take a well deserved refreshment run to a nearby Tim Horton's after a morning of switching around the industrial area of Windsor in Ojibway. The classic ex Cartier Mining GP9 is one of my favourite on ETR's small roster. The trailing unit, 104 is an ex IC SW14. The shortline also has a 1950s SW1200 (105) and an ex EMDX SW1500 (107) that once served as a plant switcher at the GMD plant in London. They sold their other GP9 102 a couple of years ago to Ontario Southland Railway a couple of hours away. That unit was ex Algoma Central and was the last GP9 ever built and so far has yet to be seen on any OSR jobs as it awaits repairs to make it run again. |
