A favorite train watching location in the Puget Sound Region is along Sunset Blvd. in Edmonds, just north of the ferry slip. BNSF's mainline hugs the shoreline, and numerous Amtrak, Sounder and BNSF freights use this route. Here an Amtrak Cascades service train slows for its Edmonds station stop on the last lap of its trip from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, and on to Portland and Eugene, OR.
Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
