Bay Line 510, built new for the Atlanta and Saint Andrews Bay Railroad (Bay Line) in June of 1975, throttles up after easing to a stop in order for the conductor to flag the crossing. Hurricane Michael had made landfall just three days earlier, and albeit much weaker than it was in Florida and south Georgia, it still knocked down countless trees and knocked out power to most of the crossings on Georgia Central's Macon end. This would be the first train to negotiate the main line after the damage assessment was completed
