After knocking down the intermediate signal at Haletown, TN (J-130.1), CSX Q583-22 (Nashville,TN-Hamlet,NC) work its way south on it's long trek to Hamlet's Classification Yard in Hamlet, NC. We're just about two years in the post Hunter Harrison world at CSX and, the Precision Schedule Railroading practice has made some major changes to the way trains are being profiled. Q583 at one time terminated out of once busy Tilford Classification Yard in of Atlanta but, with the PSR practice which restructure the way railroading is handle on CSX the yard was closed in 2017, and all trains that was built or terminated in Tilford was either abolished or profiled to a different Terminal. All locals, pick-up, and set-off operation was moved to the old Seaboard Howell Yard. Q583 is now profiles for Hamlet making pick-up, and ste off at Howell Yard. These are some strange times with the unpredictable railroad climate, and this is just the beginning
