Remarks & Notes |
"Oyster Box at Mill Neck"
Long Island Rail Road train 562 heads east past the old Mill Neck Station on the Oyster Bay Branch. The station was opened by the LIRR as "Bayville Station" sometime in 1889s, then slightly relocated and renamed to Mill Neck in 1892. The station was slightly relocated twice more as a result of being burnt down on two occasions. The station was finally closed on March 16, 1998 but still survives as a post office and police substation. The entire low level platform remains intact. |
