Re 446 # 016 of the Südostbahn in a special paint scheme for "25 years Voralpen-Express 1992 to 2017" is pulling the Voralpen Express VAE 2570 from St.Gallen via Wattwil-Rapperswil-Arth Goldau to Lucerne, between Samstagern and Schindellegi-Feususberg on a grade of 5.0 %. In the rear of the push-pull train is Re 446 # 015 shoving. The locomotives were built for the SBB as Re 4/4 IV in 1982 by SLM and BBC and are runing for the Südostbahn since 1994/1996. In the future, they will run for the Eisenbahndienstleister Gmbh (EDG), Thayngen, because the Voralpen-Express trains change to TRAVERSO Flirts.
